Gas Goes Down, Food Goes Up!

The economy in Canada was in quite a situation in May 2012, but for the best for the country. According to the CBC, the inflation rate in Canada went from an astounding two percent in April to 1.2 percent in May, a major decrease. The gas prices were also well in April, going down a bit over two percent. The gas prices were the main reason that the inflation rate in Canada went down in the month of May compared to April, when gas prices were much higher. This is the first time the prices have fallen like this in the last twenty-two months. Although good news was for the people buying gas, the food market was not as nice of a story. “Food prices were up 2.5 percent from stores in May”. Even though the statistics have risen in Canada, they are still less than they had been in previous months and this is good for the country. The economy may be starting to show signs of getting back to the times were everyone was satisfied, rather than lately were people are struggling to find the money for simple things such as groceries and fuel to power their vehicles.
